Cuenca, officially the Municipality of Cuenca, is a 4th class municipality in the province of  Batangas, Philippines. Once a part of San Jose, it became an independent town under the name “Cuenca” in 1876. Its main tourist attraction is the 700-metre-high (2,300 ft) mountain, Mount, Maculot.

Don Juan Cuenca, Batangas have “lumampao” to be proud of. It is known to have 1,500 stairs to go down to the very well known Taal Lake.


A very well-known Mt. Maculot . If you are into adventure, you have somewhere to go in just 2 hours if you are from Manila. You can do Hiking and Trekking while enjoying the view of the Taal  volcano.

A beautiful place is not that appreciated if not because of the nice people in there. In Barrio Balagbag, we met a lot of hospitable people that made our stay there better.

It is indeed fun in Cuenca, Batangas! We are lucky to have the opportunity to be a part of celebration of one of the baryo of Cuenca. The Baryo Balagbag, that celebrated it’s 50th founding anniversary. It was held on December 8 every year.
